Introducing… Atreyu
Atreyu is an American metalcore band formed in 1998 in Orange County, California. They started out independently releasing EP’s before singing with Victory Records in 2001. Atreyu released four albums with them before signing with Hollywood Records for American releases and Roadrunner Records for international releases.
Their most recent record, 2009’s Congregation of the Damned, is described to be the album in which they found themselves as a band. Lead singer Alex Varkatzas says, “It is a mix of everything we’ve ever done. For every song that’s more melodic or rock-driven there’s a total shitkicker and I think that’s what makes us a well rounded band.”
Currently Atreyu is taking the stage as part of the 2010 Mayhem Festival. Headlining the festival are Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch.
